HUNTING BAN - NON COOPERATION (PHASE 1)

THINGS TO DO NOW TO DEMONSTRATE TO GOVERNMENT THAT HUNTING FOLK AND THEIR FRIENDS WILL NOT BE WALKED ON BY URBAN BIGOTRY

  • Continue to demonstrate at all ministerial visits. Because of the effectiveness of our activities to date, they keep their schedules a closely guarded secret. Please therefore let us know by ringing the contact numbers at the bottom of this leaflet immediately if you hear a whisper of the likelihood such a visit.

Photocopy the notice on the reverse of this leaflet, by the dozen, and display wherever dogs are habitually walked.

Harass all anti-hunting Labour MPs at every possible surgery and other opportunity. These people deserve all the mockery, humiliation and misery we can heap upon them – without violence --- but with as much noise and “cake – making ingredients” (!) as you can carry.

Cancel the Direct Debit for your final payment of Council Tax due in January 2005, wait until 2nd or 3rd Reminder and then offer to pay off the arrears by cheque in instalments.

Ban the MOD from your land, even if you have only a small garden. Write a brief letter stating that you withdraw permission for the MOD to use your land to and requesting an acknowledgment to:
The Minister of Defence, Floor 5, Zone A, Main Building, Whitehall, LONDON SW1A 2HB

If you farm or own more than a couple of acres, apply for a firearms certificate. Telephone your local Police Helpdesk and request an application form. Apply for a .243 calibre weapon, stating that due to the ban you will have to conduct your own vermin control and that the Government’s preferred method is with a rifle.

Complain about every incident of low flying aircraft to: The Ministry of Defence, Complaints Unit, Level 5, Zone H, Main Building, Whitehall, LONDON SW1A  2HB – Tel: 020 7218 6020.

If you have pylons or a pole route across your land, demand a tribunal. Mobile phone companies pay £6000 - £10000 pa per mast wayleave. – do your pylons/poles generate as much? Contact: NGT House, Warwick Technology Park, Gallows Hill, Warwick CV34 6DA.Tel: 01926 653000

If you have land bordering a railway line, write denying access to Network Rail, 40 Melton Street, London NW1 2EE, telling them why.
