C.A.N.'s PRIMARY OBJECTIVE is : To co-ordinate determined resistance to any attempt to ban or unfairly restrict legitimate country pursuits and to support a working, sustainable countryside.

Monday 18 March was C.A.N.'s first 'big' action - it was an 'indicative protest' against the vote in the House of Commons. Around 500 hunt supporters attended and from 2-3 pm, the road outside the House of Commons was blocked totally to all traffic.  The action was supported by the Union of Country Sports Supporters.

Police remained relaxed and unperturbed as 300 supporters staged a sit-down protest that blocked the road completely for one hour.  As Big Ben struck 3.00, the protesters dispersed as quickly as they'd moved into the road at 2.
